the Mariana Trench
Explore the Mariana Trench

The Mariana Trench is located in the Pacific Ocean, just east of the 14 Mariana Islands (11"21' North latitude and 142" 12' East longitude ) near Japan.   As you probably already know, it is the deepest part of the earth's oceans, and the deepest location of the earth itself.  It was created by ocean-to-ocean subduction, a phenomena in which a plate topped by oceanic crust is subducted beneath another plate topped by oceanic crust.

The Abyss: Deepest Part of the Oceans No Longer Hidden
World-Record Dive to 10,902 Meters
[Afbeelding: http://geology.com/press-release/deepest...nereus.jpg]

The Abyss is a dark, deep place, but it's no longer hidden. At least when Nereus is on the scene. Nereus is a new type of deep-sea robotic vehicle, called a hybrid remotely operated vehicle (HROV).

Nereus dove to 10,902 meters (6.8 miles) on May 31, 2009, in the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean, reports a team of engineers and scientists aboard the research vessel Kilo Moana.

The dive makes Nereus the world's deepest-diving vehicle, and the first vehicle to explore the Mariana Trench since 1998.

"Much of the ocean's depths remain unexplored," said Julie Morris, director of the National Science Foundation (NSF)'s Division of Ocean Sciences, which funded the project. "Ocean scientists now have a unique tool to gather images, data and samples from everywhere in the oceans, rather than those parts shallower than 6,500 meters (4 miles). With its innovative technology, Nereus allows us to study and understand previously inaccessible ocean regions."

Re:the Mariana Trench
[glow=red,2,300]USO encounters increasing dramatically[/glow]
[Afbeelding: http://image3.examiner.com/images/blog/E...cean_1.gif]
Many recently published media reports have focused on the ever increasing number of sightings, within the past year alone, of USOs (unidentified submersible objects) by the global military forces as well as private and commercial boaters alike. The collective majority of the planet's government officials, acting on prompts from the UN Security Council, are waging a deliberate and concerted effort to drum up a fervor, within the upper ranks, for supposed concerns regarding "national defense" issues. According to some sources the situation has garnered so much attention from high level government and military officials  that a mandate has been issued for an international alert of all US naval and coast guard forces. There seems to be a concern within both government and military assemblies, whether staged or genuine, that off world crafts have permeated the earth's atmosphere and are increasingly using the depths of the oceans as hubs for collecting data about the earth and its occupants. Some speculate there are many other reasons for the activity of these crafts.

Scientists from many fields have been chosen to conduct tests and study data collected from the locations of well known sightings on the oceans. "The alien craft have been sighted by seamen and divers worldwide and the descriptions are amazingly similar," said Dr. Michael Simmons, a marine biologist with high-level contacts in the Pentagon. According to many of the top researchers involved such sightings and interactions with these USOs have been occurring intermittently, on the oceans of earth, for at least the past three decades. However there have been recorded sightings from seafaring vessels as far back as the 6th century BC and beyond. Some authorities convincingly state there is incontrovertible proof these crafts and their occupants have been here as long as the human race and in all likelihood much longer.

What has caused many, including some of the most cynical nonbelievers, to finally take the matter under very serious consideration is the striking increase in reports of USOs throughout just a six month period in 2009 alone. This activity increase mixed with the fact that so many highly reputable professionals from all occupations have been filing said reports has moved the matter to center stage.

Some basic facts have been secured from the collection of data thus far ascertained. First, based on a compilation of sonar and radar reports from most of the major oceanic sectors all over the globe, it is believed there could be in excess of 1,000 USOs maneuvering anywhere from 27,000 to 35,000 feet underwater at speeds exceeding 150 knots (172.8 mph). This is a maneuverability and speed unknown to any subaqueous crafts of earthly design. The standing record for deepest manned submersible was the Trieste, which explored the Challenger Deep, the deepest place in the Mariana Trench on January 23, 1960. It should be noted the submersible could barely move at all at this depth. However, this was not a submarine and to this day even the most advanced nuclear submarines can reach only nominal depths at not even a fraction the speeds of the USOs reported.

Second, the size of these crafts varies from minute to enormous. Some have been reported as simply orbs of pure white light, gray, or voids of space such as pitch black colored spheres leading many researchers to believe they are unmanned probes for collecting and relaying information. Are they sending physical samples and other data to remote headquarters at either underwater bases here on earth or planets in distant galaxies, is one of the questions being asked. Other crafts are more commonly seen stationary or traveling under the waters and rising from the oceans, then streaking into the skies.  These are much larger. Some official navy documentation has listed mother ship sized crafts as large as 5,000 meters ( 3.10 miles) in diameter carrying several, smaller disc shaped crafts.

Third, the majority of USOs seen rising from beneath the water into the atmosphere are also capable of ascending directly into the stellar space at speeds exceeding any contemporary aircraft we possess. These crafts are virtually always observed making no noise whatsoever when hovering or accelerating through the atmosphere in quite literally the blink of an eye.

It is now the common consensus among most who have long studied the USO phenomena that many of the crafts as well as their crews probably originate from other star systems. Although it has been suggested that some crafts could well be part of our own covert military operations, there is plenty of detailed evidence to support the premise that the crafts have been designed and are being piloted by life forms outside the earth's domain. The oceans remain virtually unexplored hence making them the perfect location for enclaves of USO bases. Whatever the reality there are undeniable events occurring at an ever increasing frequency each day, above and deep below the surface of planet earth's oceans.

Re:the Mariana Trench
Mariana Trench Depth to Scale
By admin on Feb 14, 2010 with Comments 0

In 2008 I was part of a campaign that successfully lobbied President George W. Bush to designate the 95,000 square mile Mariana Trench Marine National Monument. I try to follow any news about the Mariana Trench and post updates to this blog, like the rumors that James Cameron and Richard Branson are both separately building submarines in an attempt to reach the bottom of the trench sometime in the near future.

This blog post is one of those Mariana Trench updates. Several people alerted me to a graphic making the rounds on the Internet right now that shows the depth of the Mariana Trench to scale and I want to share it with you. I do not know where the graphic originated, but if someone out there in Internetland could send me the source I want to credit the artist.

Russian Navy Releases UFO Files
The Russian navy has declassified its records of encounters with unidentified objects technologically surpassing anything humanity ever built, reports Svobodnaya Pressa news website.

The records dating back to soviet times were compiled by a special navy group collecting reports of unexplained incidents delivered by submarines and military ships. The group was headed by deputy Navy commander Admiral Nikolay Smirnov, and the documents reveal numerous cases of possible UFO encounters, the website says.

Vladimir Azhazha, former navy officer and a famous Russian UFO researcher, says the materials are of great value.

?Fifty percent of UFO encounters are connected with oceans. Fifteen more ? with lakes. So UFOs tend to stick to the water,? he said.

On one occasion a nuclear submarine, which was on a combat mission in the Pacific Ocean, detected six unknown objects. After the crew failed to leave behind their pursuers by maneuvering, the captain ordered to surface. The objects followed suit, took to the air, and flew away.

Many mysterious events happened in the region of Bermuda Triangle, recalls retired submarine commander Rear Admiral Yury Beketov. Instruments malfunctioned with no apparent reason or detected strong interference. The former navy officer says this could be deliberate disruption by UFOs.

Vladimir Kremlev for RT. Click to enlarge ?On several occasions the instruments gave reading of material objects moving at incredible speed. Calculations showed speeds of about 230 knots, of 400 kph. Speeding so fast is a challenge even on the surface. But water resistance is much higher. It was like the objects defied the laws of physics. There?s only one explanation: the creatures who built them far surpass us in development,? Beketov said.
Navy intelligence veteran, Captain 1st rank Igor Barklay comments:

?Ocean UFOs often show up wherever our or NATO?s fleets concentrate. Near Bahamas, Bermudas, Puerto Rico. They are most often seen in the deepest part of the Atlantic Ocean, in the southern part of the Bermuda Triangle, and also in the Caribbean Sea.?

Another place where people often report UFO encounters is Russia?s Lake Baikal, the deepest fresh water body in the world. Fishermen tell of powerful lights coming from the deep and objects flying up from the water.

In one case in 1982 a group of military divers training at Baikal spotted a group of humanoid creatures dressed in silvery suits. The encounter happened at a depth of 50 meters, and the divers tried to catch the strangers. Three of the seven men died, while four others were severely injured.

?I think about underwater bases and say: why not? Nothing should be discarded,? says Vladimir Azhazha. ?Skepticism is the easiest way: believe nothing, do nothing. People rarely visit great depths. So it?s very important to analyze what they encounter there.?

[glow=red,2,300]What is the Dragon?s Triangle?[/glow]
[Afbeelding: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_USNp11SJKTg/Rt...iangle.jpg]
The triangles align point to point through the center of the earth, with the same latitude and longitude. Both are located at the eastern end of large continental masses, where the sea's currents are colliding with warm and cold water, over volcanic areas. Deep trenches are another commonality with the Dragon?s Triangle featuring the Mariana Trench, the deepest known point in all the seas. The Dragon's Triangle in particular, reports an ever-changing seascape with professionally charted landmasses and islands literally forming and disappearing overnight.

Kublai Khan made two unsuccessful attempts to take over Japan in the 13th Century. Both attempts failed on the trip through these waters and over 40,000 crewmen were lost in the first attempt alone. Japan believed that Nature intervened to protect them and attributed the victories to the ?Divine Wind?.

The famous Japanese Utsuro bune legend of 1803 describes a box shaped hollow boat, resembling a kou-hako (incense burner). Inside was described a foreign woman of unique physical characteristics. There are many collected stories and books written describing this incident. The credibility of these books have been questioned, yet it has been verified that these books were written prior to 1844, long before the modern UFO era.

Modern linguist and author Charles Berlitz made his own mark on the topic in his 1989 book, The Dragon?s Triangle. Of the many missing ships recorded; ranging from small fishing boats, large 200,000-ton (181,439-metric ton) tankers, American and Japanese warships and airplanes, and Soviet nuclear missile submarines, few revealed signs of wreckage, oil slicks or flotsam. Berlitz traces UFO and USO (unidentified submerged objects) activity in this area back to the 12th Century.
